Police Arrest Cranford Man After 3-Month Narcotics Investigation

The Cranford suspect was caught with bags of marijuana, pills and cash.

After a three-month narcotics investigation, police allegedly caught a 19-year-old Cranford man with over 30 bags of suspected marijuana, several bags of pills and over $2,500 cash.

Michael Xu (aka Shi Xu) was arrested leaving his home on Tulip Street at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, according to the Cranford Police Department. He was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police discovered the marijuana, pills and cash while executing a search warrant at the suspect's home.

Xu posted bail of $7500.00 and is due to appear in Union County Superior Court on Wednesday for his arraignment.
