Man Arrested After Mistaking High School For Hospital
Police activity from February 9-15.
Cranford police arrested a man for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after he mistook Cranford High School for a hospital. They also made drug and alcohol arrests last week. Details:
Tuesday, February 9:
Police responded to Cranford High School at 4:02 p.m. on the report of a suspicious male who had entered the school. The 29-year-old male from Jersey City was dropped off in front of the school by his father who thought it was a hospital. The suspect became disorderly and was arrested by officers Nelson Hearns, John Heesters and Sgt. Anthony Dobbins. He was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Friday, February 12:
Officer Nadia Jones was detailed to Union County College lot at 7:52 p.m. for a report of a possible intoxicated driver. Through further investigation Jones arrested a 47-year-old driver from Stirling for driving while intoxicated. He was also charged with refusing a breath test.

Officer John Rattigan stopped a vehicle on North Avenue East at 1:03 a.m. for driving with a brake light out. Through further investigation the 26-year-old driver from Roselle was arrested for possession of CDS marijuana and CDS paraphernalia. He was also charged with CDS in a motor vehicle and having a brake light out. The 29-year-old passenger from Roselle was arrested for an outstanding warrant out of Newark.
