Police Arrest Suspects for Possession of Marijuana

Cranford police activity from December 16-20.

Cranford police made three drug arrests after routine traffic stops in the last week. Details:

Wednesday, December 16:
Officer Brian Lopez stopped a motor vehicle on Raritan Road at 10:38 p.m. for having an unlit brake light. Through further investigation, the 23-year-old driver from Union was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, paraphernalia, maintenance of brake lights and CDS in a motor vehicle.

Saturday, December 19:
Officer Spencer Durkin stopped a vehicle on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road at 11:30 a.m. for an expired inspection sticker. Through further investigation, the 27-year-old driver from Hardyston was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, summonses for failure to inspect, unregistered vehicle and failure to exhibit registration documents.

Sunday, December 20:
Officer Timothy O'Brien stopped a vehicle on North and Forest avenues at 3:11 p.m. Through further investigation, a 23-year-old passenger from Rahway was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The driver, also from Rahway was issued a summons for failure to maintain head lights/brake lights.
