Cranford police made a shoplifting, intoxicated driving and two drug-related arrests in the last week. Details:
Tuesday, November 17:
Officer Sean Holcomb arrested a 59-year-old Cranford woman at 9:44 a.m. for shoplifting after he was called to the Walgreens on South Avenue by store employees who noticed a female concealing stationery and attempting to leave the store.
Thursday, November 19:
Officer Donald Zsak arrested a 39-year-old Sewaren man at 12:15 a.m. for driving while intoxicated and careless driving after he stopped a vehicle on Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street for erratic driving and nearly striking a curb. The driver found to be intoxicated.
Officer Spencer Durkin stopped a vehicle for an inoperable headlight at 2:38 a.m. on Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road. Durkin detected an odor of burnt marijuana in the vehicle and recovered a small bag of suspected marijuana as well as a suspetced partially smoked handrolled marijuana cigarette. The 40-year-old Livingston driver was arrested for possession of CDS marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Saturday, November 21:
Officer Zsak Vehicle stopped a vehicle at Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road at 11:54 p.m. for seatbelt violations by the driver and front seat passenger, both 20-year-old males from Rahway. Cigar shavings and raw marijuana were visible on the clothing of those inside the vehicles and a suspected handrolled marijuana cigar and bag of suspected marijuana were located in the vehicle. The driver, front seat passenger, and an additional occupant, a 20-year-old male from Plainfield, were arrested for possession of CDS marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
