Police Blotter: Cranford Resident Arrested for Heroin Possession

Cranford Police activity for the week.

Cranford Police arrested resident Matthew Tempesta, 19, for Possession of Heroin (20 folds), Possession with Intent to Distribute, and Possession of Paraphernalia on June 3rd. Tempesta was stopped on Dunham Avenue near Herning Avenue for failure to keep right. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Spencer Durkin discovered 20 folds of heroin and paraphernalia. Tempesta was processed and released with a Union County Superior Court date of June 8th. In addition, Tempesta was also cited fot Failure to Keep Right, and CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

Tuesday, May 31st

  • Taylor Bennert, 28, of Irvington, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Taylor was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Centennial Avenue near Grant Street, when Ptl. Steven D’Ambola discovered an outstanding traffic warrant. Bennett was processed and released with a court date of June 1st.
  • Maggie Joseph, 21, of Roselle, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Joseph was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Raritan Road near Commerce Drive, when Ptl. Christopher DiFabio discovered an outstanding local traffic warrant. Joseph was processed and released after posting bail. 

Thursday, June 2nd

  • Eric Concepcion, 32, of Linden, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Concepcion was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road, when Ptl. Timothy O’Brien discovered an outstanding criminal warrant.  Concepcion was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Frank Dellsanti, 51, of Nutley, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Dellsanit was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Centennial Avenue near Hayes Street, when Ptl. Spencer Durkin discovered an outstanding traffic warrant.  Dellisanti was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Raheem Fogle, 32, of Scotch Plains, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams) and Paraphernalia. Fogle was stopped for having a headlight out on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway South Bound entrance. During the stop, Ptl. Christopher DiFabio observed a partially smoked, hand rolled cigarette containing suspected marijuana in the ashtray. Fogle was arrested, processed and released with a Municipal Court date of June 8th. In addition to the drug charges, Fogle was issued motor vehicle summonses for Maintenance of Lamps, and Possession of CDS in a Motor Vehicle.

Wednesday, June 3rd

  • Richard Manning, 53, of Livingston, was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (under 50 grams), Use of Marijuana, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Driving While Intoxicated. Manning was stopped on Walnut Avenue near Lincoln Avenue for having a brake light out.  Following an investigation on scene, Ptl. William Pietrucha arrested Manning for Driving While Intoxicated. In addition, Ptl. Pietrucha observed a bag of suspected marijuana located on the floor of the vehicle.  Manning was arrested, processed, and released with a Cranford Municipal Court date of June 8th. Manning was issued motor vehicle summonses for DWI, Maintenance of Lamps, and CDS in a Motor Vehicle, in addition to the criminal charges.

 Thursday, June 4th

  • Michael Burgess, 24, of Newark was arrested for Contempt of Court. Burgess was stopped on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway North Bound entrance for a motor vehicle violation, when Ptl. Steven D’Ambola discovered an outstanding criminal warrant. Burgess was processed and transported to East Orange Police.
  • Tri Nguyen, 35, of Middlesex, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Failure to Observe Signal. Nguyen was stopped on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway for failure to stop at a red traffic light. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Steven D’Ambola arrested Nguyen for Driving While Intoxicated.  He was processed and released with a Cranford Municipal Court date of June 8th.
  • Three Cranford juveniles, two 13 year old males and one 14 year old male,  were taken into custody for Criminal Trespass by Officer Matthew Nazzaro following an investigation at a home on Park Drive.

 Friday, June 5th

  • Quivon Wilson, 20, of Irvington was arrested for Contempt of Court. Cranford Police arrested Wilson on an outstanding traffic warrant.  Wilson was processed and released after posting bail/

Sunday, June 7th

  •  Marcelo Tancredo, 38, of Hillside, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Tancredo was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on North Avenue near Carpenter Place, when Ptl. Brian Thomas discovered an outstanding traffic warrant. Tancredo was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Reginald Woodside, 48, of Iselin, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Woodside was stopped for a motor vehicle violation on Raritan Road near Centennial Avenue, when Det. Russell Luedecker discovered multiple outstanding traffic warrants.  Following an on scene investigation, passenger Darlean Cohen of Newark was also arrested for outstanding traffic warrants.  Woodside was processed and released with a Cranford Municipal Court date of July 21st. Cohen was processed and released after posting bail.
