Police Blotter: Distrurbance Call Leads to DWI Arrest

The following information was obtained from the Cranford Police. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Nov. 2

  • At 8:20 p.m., Patrolman Spencer Durikin stopped a 2004 Volkswagen Passat for a seatbelt violation on North Avenue. Following a brief investigation at the scene, Ptl. Durkin located a small bag of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, Daniel Drake, 47, of Hellertown, Pa., was arrested, processed and released with a court appearance. Drake was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 3

  • At 9:36 p.m., police responded to a disturbance call on Hillside Place and stopped a 2003 Ford that was attempting to leave the scene. Following a brief investigation, Patrolman Steven D’Ambola arrested the driver, Janine Connolly, 50, for allegedly driving while intoxcated. She was processed and released with a court appearance and was also cited for delaying traffic.

  • At 12:32 p.m., Patrolman Nelson Hearns stopped a 1994 Jeep on North Avenue at Arlington Road for seatbelt violations. Following a brief investigation, Ptl. Hearns located seven bags of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Jamal Hubert, 19, of Hillside, was arrested, processed and released with a municipal court appearance. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Nov. 7

  • At 1:39 a.m., Patrolman Robert Jordan stopped a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer on Elizabeth Avenue at Wade Avenue for an inoperable tail light. Following a brief investigation, Ptl. Jordan located a pipe and suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver, identified as Carlos Valdes-Fauli, 45, of Cranford, was arrested, processed and released with a municipal court appearance. He was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
