Police Blotter: Driver Leaves Scene of Accident, Charged with DWI

Cranford Police activity, Nov. 11-16.

Cranford Police arrested Salatore Saladino, 29, for driving while intoxicated Friday around midnight, according to law enforcement reports. Saladino, in a white Kia, drove away after striking a concrete post with his car on Wall Street.

Hearing a report that a perpetrator had left the scene of an accident, officer Brian Lopez searched for the vehicle and found Saladino's car, facing westbound on Crane Parkway by Collins Street, and confronted the driver.

Passenger Maria Madden, 31, then emerged from the vehicle and tried to block the officer from arresting Saladino, a Clark resident.
