Police Blotter: Resident Arrested for Contempt of Court

The Cranford Police Department activity for the week.

Gavett Fudge, 49, of Cranford, was arrested for Contempt of Court on Wednesday, July 13th. Fudge was stopped on Centennial Avenue near South Avenue. Following a suspicious person investigation, Officer Brian Lopez arrested Fudge on an outstanding traffic warrant from Plainfield. Fudge was processed and turned over to the Plainfield Police Department.

Tuesday, July 12th

William Davis, 28, of Roselle and Kesha McNeil, 26, of Hillside, were arrested for Possession of Marijuana (less than 50 grams), Possession of Paraphernalia (Davis), and Contempt of Court (McNeil). The pairs was stopped on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway Northbound entrance for seatbelt violations. Following an investigation at the scene, Officer Spencer Durkin located a small bag of suspected marijuana and paraphernalia inside the vehicle.  Both the driver and passenger were found to have warrants. Davis was charged with Possession of Marijuana (less than 50 grams) and Possession of Paraphernalia. He was also cited for failing to wear his seatbelt and was processed on an outstanding traffic warrant from Roselle.  McNeil was cited for Driving While Suspended and was processed on an outstanding traffic warrant from Union. Davis was released with a court date of July 13th in Municipal Court.  McNeil was turned over to the Union Police Department.

Wednesday, July 13th

Latista Gibson, 41, of Elizabeth and Gail Robinson, 49, of Elizabeth were arrested for Possession of CDS, and Possession of Paraphernalia. The two were stopped on North Avenue near Elizabeth Avenue for an inoperable headlight.  Following an investigation at the scene, Officer Durkin arrested Gibson on outstanding warrants from Elizabeth, Plainfield, and Newark. She was also found to be in possession of suspected heroin, as well as a glass pipe with suspected cocaine. Robinson was also found to be in possession of a suspected cocaine pipe.  Both were processed with a court date of July 18th in Superior Court. Robinson was released and Gibson was turned over to the Elizabeth Police Department.

Friday, July 15th

James Delamater, 60, of Matawan was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Delamater was stopped on Centennial Avenue near Cayuga Road for erratic driving and a near collision. Following an investigation at the scene, Officer Brian Lopez arrested Delamater for DWI and Careless Driving.  He was processed and released with a court date of July 20th in Municipal Court.

Sunday, July 17th

  • Emilio Guadarrama, 26, of Brick was arrested for Contempt of Court. Guadarrama was stopped on South Avenue near the Garden State Parkway entrance for motor vehicle violations, when Officer Brian Wagner discovered an outstanding traffic warrant from Orange. Guadarrama was processed and released after posting bail.
  • Marquis Scott, 21, of Roselle was arrested for Possession of Marijuana (less than 50 grams) and Possession of Paraphernalia. Scott was stopped on the Northbound Garden State Parkway entrance  for an inoperable brake light. Following an investigation at the scene, Officier Timothy O'Brien located five small bags of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. Scott was arrested, processed, and released with a court date of July 20th in Municipal Court.  Scott was also cited for Maintenance of Lamps.


Monday, July 18th

  • Jerome Juno, 39, of Hillside was arrested for Contempt of Court. Juno was arrested at Police Headquarters on an outstanding traffic warrant from Cranford Municipal Court.  He was released after posting bail.
  • Andrew Nadel, 23, of Linden was arrested for Contempt of Court. Nadel was arrested by Officer John Rattigan in Linden on multiple outstanding criminal and traffic warrants from Cranford Municipal Court.  He was committed to the Union County Jail in lieu of bail.
