Police Blotter: Roselle Man Arrested for Possession of Stolen Property

The Cranford Police Activity for the week.

Police arrested Ira Armour, 55, of Roselle for Possession of Stolen Property. Following a two week investigation into a Centennial Avenue burglary that occurred in June, police arrested Armour outside his home. He was charged with Receiving Stolen Property after it was discovered he possessed and sold stolen items in Essex County. Armour was committed to the Union County Jail in lieu of bail. He was also detained on outstanding warrants from Irvington, Hillside, Woodbridge, and South Orange.

Thursday, July 7th

Bekin Berisha, 27, of Linden, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Berisha was stopped on Centennial Avenue near Raritan Road for a motor vehicle violation, when Officer Robert Jordan discovered an outstanding traffic warrant from Tinton Falls. He was processed and released after posting bail.

Friday, July 8th

Evoke Ogbevire, 33, of Roselle was arrested for Contempt of Court. Ogbevire was arrested on outstanding traffic warrants from Roselle and Union when he presented himself for transport to Union County Jail on an unrelated matter. He was committed to Union County Jail.

Saturday, July 9th

  • Lamin Kamara, 21, of Somerset, Abdul Kamara, 22, of Plainfield and Adelle Youchom-Tagheu, 19, of Plainfield, were arrested for Hindering Apprehension and Multiple Warrants. The group’s vehicle was stopped on Burnside Avenue near Lincoln Avenue for window tinting and seatbelt violations. Following an investigation at the scene, Officer John Rattigan arrested Lamin and Abdul Kamara for Hindering Apprehension after they provided false indentifying information. Both lied to conceal the existence of multiple warrants. (Lamin had a warrant from South Brunswick, while Abdul had warrants from Bridgewater and New Brunswick.) Youchom-Tagheu was arrested on outstanding warrants from North Hunterdon, Bridgewater, and Branchburg. After processing, Lamin was released to the South Brunswick Police Department, Abdul was released to the Bridgewater Police Department, and Youchom-Tagheu was released after posting bail. All three were cited for seatbelt violations. In addition, Lamin was cited for a Suspended License.
  • Jnecia Flanagan, 20, of Metuchen, was arrested for Contempt of Court. Flanagan was stopped on North Avenue near the Garden State Parkway entrance for motor vehicle violations, when Officer Brian Wagner discovered an outstanding warrant from Westfield. She was processed and released after posting bail.

Sunday, July 10th

Kevin Marques, 18, of Newark, Jeremy Pereira, 20, of Newark, and a juvenile male, 15, of Newark were arrested for Possession of CDS Marijuana (less than 50 grams) and Possession of Paraphernalia. The group’s vehicle was stopped on Walnut Avenue near Lincoln Avenue for having no rear license plate. Following an investigation at the scene, Officer John Rattigan located two sandwich bags of suspected marijuana inside the vehicle. The men were arrested, processed, and released pending court. Marques was also cited for Improper Display of a License Plate. Marques and Pereira are scheduled to appear in Municipal Court on July 13th. The 15 year old male has been referred to the Essex County Family Court.
