Police Blotter: Two Arrested For Alleged Marijuana Posession
Cranford Police reports this week.
Cranford Police arrested 26-year-old Steven J. Byars of Kenilworth, charged with marijuana possession around midnight on April 19.
Ptl. Brian Lopez originally pulled over Byars' vehicle for failing to display a license plate on Centennial Avenue. While talking to Byars, Lopez allegedly noticed an odor of marijuana in the vehicle, and found a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana and a partially smoked marijuana cigar.
Byars' first appearance in Cranford Municipal Court is scheduled for May 4.

- Cranford Police arrested 20-year-old Andrew Chase Williams of Madison, charged with marijuana possession on April 26 around midnight. Ptl. Brian Lopez first pulled over a 2003 Toyota on Ludlow Avenue by Dietz Street after Lopex noticed that the car exhibited an inoperable headlight. Williams, a rear seat passenger, possessed two bags of suspected marijuana, police say. The 21-year-old driver of the vehicle was cited for the headlight and released.
- Police arrested 21-year-old Gregory Thompson of Cranford in lot 2 of the parking deck at Cranford Crossing on April 24 around 5 a.m. for outstanding traffic warrants. The warrants were from both Cranford and Roselle Park.
