Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Local 7-Eleven

According to unconfirmed reports, a suspect held up the convenience store at knife point before fleeing.

Garwood Police are investigating an armed robbery that occured at the 7-Eleven at 309 North Avenue in the Garwood Plaza shopping area around 10 p.m. Saturday.

According to unconfirmed reports, a suspect held up the convenience store at knife point before fleeing. Minutes later, police were made aware of a second robbery victim across the street from the store with injuries to her face. 

A county K-9 unit was called in, but lost the suspect's scent.

Lt. Doug Stoffer told Patch the following: "At this time we can only confirm that an armed robbery occured at the 7-11 and another report of an armed robbery occured shortly after. Due to the nature of the incidents and the ongoing investigation, no details are available."
