Police Seek Information On Bank Robbery Suspect

Cranford Police are trying to find out the identity of a man who allegedly robbed the Roselle Savings Bank Tuesday afternoon.

On June 12, 2012 at 1:30 hrs the located at 655 Raritan Road in Cranford was robbed, according to the . Witnesses at the scene told police that the suspect fled on foot from the bank.

Further investigation revealed the suspect entered the bank at approximately 1 p.m. and announced he had forgotten his wallet. He was observed by the staff walking across Raritan Road onto Dewitt Terrace in Linden and turning right on Springfield Road. About 20 minutes later, he was observed walking back the same way and entered the bank again, according to police.

The suspect passed a handwritten note to the teller demanding money and stating he had a gun. No firearm was displayed. A bank employee going to lunch reported seeing a grey or silver vehicle parked on Springfield Road with its headlights turned on during the time frame of the robbery.

The suspect is a light-skinned hispanic male or a white male with tanned skin, 25-35 years of age, approximately 6 feet tall, 160-180 pounds with dark hair, wearing unique sunglasses with orange/yellow tinted lenses, a blue hoodie with white strings, dark colored baseball cap, dark colored sweats that were cut on the bottom and dirty white sneakers.

Witnesses describe a distinctive birthmark, or burn mark under his right eye along his cheekbone.
