Financing the Governor: Corzine Barely Beats Daggett in Cranford Contributions

Corzine received $3,910 in campaign contributions from Cranford residents.

Gov. Jon Corzine's fundraising in Cranford paled in comparison to what Republican Gov.-Elect Chris Christie brought in from town residents.

The Democratic governor brought in $3,910 in donations from town residents over 2009, according to state records. Christie, who unseated Cozine this year, from town residents and businesses this year. Corzine's Cranford haul was just slightly above that of independent gubernatorial candidate Chris Daggett, who brought in $2,850 from town residents.

Corzine's donations show that he raised less in individual donations during the period than Christie. State records show that seven Cranford residents donated money to Corzine. None of Corzine's Cranford donations reached $3,500, the maximum contribution amount allowed by law, while three of Christie's Cranford contributors gave just that.
