Residents Take Council, JCP&L to Task Over Sandy Recovery (Video)

About a dozen residents took to the podium to either blast JCP&L, the council, or praise city efforts in handling the storm

There was advice and a little scolding at the Nov. 12 meeting of the Summit Common Council.

Here's a look at what many of the residents had to say about Sandy.

I had to iron out some technical difficulties. The video is back.

I just got off the phone with JCP&L and had them lower my bill as they are sending out estimates not actual readings. If you go out to your electric meter you can get the reading off the dials and call it in. Remember, if the arrow is even the smallest bit away from the higher number, you should put the lower number down for your reading. They specify this on their website: https://www.firstenergycorp.com/content/customer/help/billingpayments/meter_reading_schedule/reading_your_meter.html Hope this helps.

Another tactic to express your dissatisfaction is to refuse your monthly statement. Simple cross off your address, write "REFUSED, RETURN TO SENDER" on the envelope, and drop it back into the post. You can still retrieve your statement online and pay it when due, while sending a concise, unambiguous message.

Earlier today, I was speaking with a friend who lives in South Orange. She was full of praise for the way their 26-year-old mayor handled the hurricane. Mayor Ellen, why don't you drive over there and see what you can learn from this young man?

Good job editing out the meaningful comments in favor of your pro-council pat on the back buddies.
