Two same-sex couples applied for marriage licenses in Cranford on Monday
morning on the first official day same-sex marriage is legal in New Jersey,
according to Cranford’s Vital Statistics Office.
The office also has an application scheduled for later in the week, Local Registrar, Jennifer Kobliska said.
No marriage licenses were issued on Monday, because it takes 72-hours for their licenses to be approved by a superior court judge. However, if couples were married in another state they can be issued a license the same day.
