Petition with over 700 Signatures to Stop UCC's Proposed Athletic Facility

This proposed facility will eliminate 700 mature trees that absorb up to 7 million gallons of water each year.  Union County College has been given funding from Union County, using our tax dollars to displace this permeable cover that helps protect homes near Nomahegan Park from the devastating effects of flooding which would be exacerbated with the removal of these woodlands.  Union County College has proposed to "discharge running water through our perimeter drain that ultimately runs into Nomahegan Park" increasing the damage from flooding for homeowners near Nomahegan Park and along the river. The congested parking issues on Colby and Princeton Lane across from the Facility would decrease the quality of life for Cranford Citizens. Please sign below to demand that the County not use our tax dollars for profit while decreasing the quality of life for Cranford Citizens and increasing the devastating effects of flooding on home owners.
