California-Bound: 5 Cranford High Students Set to Attend DECA Competition

The DECA International Career Development Conference will be held from April 23 to April 28th in Anaheim, California.

DECA students once again impressed with their outstanding performance and best year ever as a chapter at Cranford High School.  Forty Four Cranford High School students attended the February 27- March 1 DECA State Leadership Conference in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, at which contestants from across New Jersey competed in several business categories.

Twenty-two students placed in the top ten in their events out of over 100 students in each one.  We are proud to announce that this is greatest number of students to ever achieve this level in the history of CHS DECA.

The DECA International Career Development Conference will be held from  April 23 to April 28th in Anaheim, California. These five students are: Caitlin Slattery, first place for Apparel and Accessory Marketing; Victoria Herlocker, second place for Apparel and Accessory Marketing; Rachel White, second place, Fashion Merchandising; Samuel Grossman, second place, Principles of Business Management and Administration; and Joseph Tobin, second place, Accounting.  More than 15,000 DECA members from the United States and Canada will attend to compete in their respective business specialties, network, and attend energizing leadership activities. Overall, Cranford High School’s DECA Program, aimed at helping students prepare for business careers, learn leadership, and practice community service, boasts 98 members.
