27 Flu-Like, 2 Confirmed H1N1 School Absences

In the last week, 27 students have been absent due to what parents and school nurses identified as "flu-like" symptoms. These are not necessarily fully-tested and confirmed cases of H1N1. On December 3, two Bloomingdale Avenue students were absent with doctor-confirmed cases of H1N1. As of Tuesday, December 8:

  • Bloomingdale Avenue School: One in first grade absent with flu-like symptoms. On December 3, two students, one in kindergarten, one in second grade) were absent with doctor-diagnosed cases of H1N1.
  • Brookside Place School: Six total, one in AM kindergarten, one in PM kindergarten, two in first grade, two in second grade.
  • Cranford High School: Six total, three in ninth grade, two in 11th grade, one in 12th grade.
  • Hillside Avenue School: Three total, all in eighth grade.
  • Livingston Avenue School: None.
  • Orange Avenue School: Three total, one in fourth grade, one sixth grade, one in seventh grade
  • Walnut Avenue School: Eight total, one in preschool, one in kindergarten, two in first grade, four in second grade.
