Brief: Extreme Heat Prompts Early School Dismissal on Thursday, June 9th

The district will end school early in order to keep the health and well being of students and staff in mind.

The Cranford School District will have an early dismissal on Thursday, June 9th due to the severe heat. Tomorrow, it is expected to reach highs of 98 degrees. In order to keep the well being of staff and students in mind, classes will end in the afternoon. 

Bloomingdale Avenue School will dismiss its morning Kindergarten class at 11:00 a.m., while morning Kindergarten classes at Walnut Avenue School, Hillside Avenue School, and Brookside Place School will be dismisses at 11:15 a.m. Students at Livingston Avenue School will be released at 12:25 p.m. Walnut Avenue School, Hillside Avenue School, Orange Avenue School, Bloomingdale Avenue School, and Lincoln School will end classes at 12:30 p.m. Cranford High School will end its day at 12:36 p.m.

There will be no afternoon Kindergarten or Preschool classes. Lunch will not be served.
