Wrestling

-JP Christiano qualified for the individual state tournament at Boardwalk Hall in the 170 LB bracket!!

Cranford 39, Linden 33

Hockey

Cranford 5, SPF 1: Cody Reiber had two assists in the win over SPF.

Cranford 6, GL 0: Dan Murphy recorded two goals and Alex Kempinski totaled two assists in the win over GL.

Boys Basketball

Newark East Side 

Cranford 73, Johnson 65: Kurt Rutmayer led the way for the Cougars with 21 points in the win.

Cranford 60, GL 52: Was able to advance in the UCT despite 31 points from GL sharpshooter Logan Kelley. Sean Babos led the Cougars with 21 points.

Cranford 57, St. Mary's 50: Stefan Fedorchak led all scorers with 23 points while Reggie Green recorded a double double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Girls Basketball

Second Round State Tournament- Cranford 51, Millburn 36: Jess McCoy recorded a second straight double double (13 points, 13 rebounds, four blocks) and Morgan Miller put in a game-high 20 points despite being under the weather.

First Round State Tournament-Cranford 44, Millburn 22: Jess McCoy filled up the stat sheet for the Cougars in their first round state tournament victory with 16 points, 10 rebounds,  four assists, two blocks and a steal. Jenna Goeller added 13 points and six assists. 

Cranford 62, Dayton 48: Morgan Miller nearly put in a triple-double (11 points, eight rebounds and eight assists) and Jessica McCoy was a rebound away from a double-double (22 points and nine rebounds) in the Cougars semifinals win over a strong Dayton squad.

Cranford 61, Hillside 55: Jessica McCoy filled the stat sheet with 15 points, seven rebounds and four steals in the Cougars' first-round UCT win over Hillside.

Cranford 61, SPF 44: Morgan Miller scored her 1000th point (exactly!) in the win over the Raiders. Miller is the fourth player from Union County to achieve the feat this year and should be joined by two others (Alyssa Polimeni-GL, Anna Lies-Dayton) in the near future.

Cranford 49, Elizabeth 30: Morgan Miller had 21 points, five rebounds, five steals and two assists in the win.

Cranford 54, Dayton 36: Morgan Miller once again led the way for the Cougars with 17 points in the win.

Track and Field

UCIAC Relays: The boys took second in the 4x800 with Mike Zanfardino, George El'Khoury, Chris Witwick and Carl Lieberman.  They also placed 5th in the shot put with TJ Nichols, JD Foye and Greg Miller.

The girls scored in all eight events with Bryanna Grant and Regine Hunter winning the County title in the high jump.  Other high place finishers were the Girls Shuttle Hurdle Relay that placed 2nd and qulalified for the New Balance National Meet, they were Rebecca Shimonov, Devon Cacchione, Megan Schetelich and Bryanna Grant. 

The girls 4x800 finished 2nd with Megan Schetelich, Erin Wheatley, Keara Reilly and Megan Byrnes.  Also the shot put team of Kristen VanBenschoten, Aaryn Wichlens and Alex Krowicki and our 4x200 of Bryanna Grant, Gillian Burke, Ashley McGuire and Regine Hunter each placed 3rd in their events.
