Cranford's Angela Lynch Runs in S. Brunswick 5K

Lynch had a time of 21:38 in the annual race that raised money for South Brunswick High School Viking Athletic Club.

On Dec. 2, 2012 over 200 runners, volunteers, and families participated in the 8th Annual Run with the Vikings 5K at South Brunswick High School in Monmouth Junction presented by the Viking Athletic Club.  

The runners were treated to perfect running weather after the race had to be reschuduled due to Hurricane Sandy. Numerous trophies and awards were given out to winners in differrent age categories. 

Coming in first in the 5K was Bryan Colhoun of Dayton, N.J. in a time of 17:17. Colhoun was followed closely behind by Scott Sarno of Beach Haven, N.J. in 17:27 and then Jack Medina of Livingston, N.J. in 17:33.

The females were lead by Amy Bernstein of East Windsor, N.J. with a time of 20:15, followed by Angela Lynch of Cranford N.J. in 21:38 and then Sue Patla of Matawan N.J. in a time of 22:09. 

The Fittest Family Challenge was won by the Lynch family of Little Silver, N.J. followed by Team Patla and then Team Ryan, lead by Sgt. Jim Ryan of the South Brunswick Police Department.

Thank you to all that participated, volunteered, sponsored, provided gifts and refreshments. It was a great event to help raise funds for the SBHS students.
