Cooking Classes for Teens, Mexican Food Made Easy - Register by 2/12

The Frelinghuysen Arboretum is hosting a teen cooking class on Sunday, February 19, 2012 from 1pm - 4pm.  Register by Sunday, February 12, 2012.  This class will be held at the Haggerty Center, 353 East Hanover Ave Morristown.  Cost is $30 members/$35 non-members.

In this hands-on cooking class, we'll make our own tortillas and turn them into tacos, enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos.  Pico de gallo, salsa verde and guacamole are on the menu, too.  Buen Apetito!

Beginning in January, The Friends and Whole Foods Market in Madison are sponsoring a Cooking Series for Teens with our resident Chef and Master Gardener Cynthia Triolo.  Do you have a teen who is interested in cooking?  Could they be the next Julia or Emeril?  Perhaps they are getting close to leaving the nest to fend for themselves.  These hands on classes will teach your son or daughter some useful skills that they will carry with them far into the future.  Cynthia has been teaching cooking for more than 20 years to young adults and is the former owner of the Rose City Bakery Cafe in Madison.  At the end of each class we will sit down together and enjoy the fruits of our labors.  All recipes are provided and because these classes are hands on, they are limited to 12 and early registration is a must!  Appropriate for teens in grades 7 and up.  Please bring an apron and long hair must be tied back.

For more information and to register, visit www.arboretumfriends.org/events or call 973-326-7601.  All are welcome.
