Green Weekends of Morris County

The Morris County Park Commission presents Green Weekends of Morris County, a series of events filled with green-themed programs offering the unique opportunity to discover ways of integrating green living into our daily lives.  These special events kick off Saturday, April 28 with the largest Morris County “EarthDay Celebration.”

Earth Day Celebration held at the Lewis Morris County Park in Morris Township on Saturday, April 28, 2012 begins at 11 am and continues till 4 pm.  Experience live animal shows, great food, lively music, games and crafts, and fun for the entire family.  Admission fees are $3 for adults, $2 for children ages 12 & under, and FREE for children under the age of 2.

The weekend continues with “Sustainable Life on the Farm,” on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 12 Noon - 4 pm at Fosterfields Living Historical Farm in Morris Township.  Learn how garden vegetables, crops, and livestock were raised a century ago, and discover sustainable farming methods involving crops and livestock used today.  Enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride around the farm and assist farmers in planting varieties of heirloom potatoes grown by the Fosters.  Regular farm admission fees apply during “SustainableLife on the Farm.”
