New Jersey Mills: What Ever Happened to Them?

More than a thousand water-powered mills operated in New Jersey in the 1800s. These mills not only satisfied community needs, they were also the social centers of their day. Over the years, many of them were abandoned. Some were converted to other uses and others were destroyed by nature. A few of them still function. Historian Phil Jaeger will present a fascinating historical slide program on the past and current state of many of yesterday's mills. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cranford Public Library.
