OAS Family Day Sportstacular

We have the perfect cure for the winter doldrums… Family Day at OAS! The PTA Family Day Committee has already started planning an exciting and educational sports themed program that you won't want to miss!

The event will include:

"Science Sportacular" What's your favorite sport? Whatever it is, they all have one thing in common -- science! We will demonstrate Newton's Laws and other physics topics using sports equipment. Students will learn how a pitcher makes a baseball curve, and volunteers will join in a momentum race. We'll even show concepts related to helmet safety by lying on a sharp bed of nails. No tricks or illusions here, just pure science!

"Totally Courageous Basketball" - Our presenter will amaze the crowd with his basketball magic. Pens, giant pencils, umbrellas, cups, feet and even people -- you name it, he will spin a basketball on it! We use a combination of wonderful athletic abilities and ball handling skills to help communicate a powerful message of excellence to young people, stressing the importance of hard work, education and making the right choices in life.

RSVP is mandatory if you plan to attend. We cannot accommodate walk-ins on the day of the event; only families with tickets will be admitted. Students and siblings must be accompanied
by an adult.
