The Irish in the Church of Newark
Seton Hall University's Pirates of Irish Persuasion & Extraction (PIPE) will sponsor a program on the Irish in the Church of Newark on Wednesday, October 20 at 7:30pm in the Beck Rooms, ground level of Walsh Library, on the South Orange campus. Monsignor Robert J. Wister, Hist.Eccl.D., Professor of Church History at Seton Hall and author of the new book Stewards of the Mysteries of God – Immaculate Conception Seminary 1860-2010, will be joined by Father Augustine Curley, O.S.B., of Newark Abbey, Religion Department Chair at St. Benedict's Preparatory School and member of the New Jersey Catholic Historical Commission, to discuss the role that Irish Americans have played in shaping the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark. The event is free and open to the public.
