theoneminutesjr. Video Project

The Friends of the Cranford Public Library are pleased to sponsor this fascinating program by Cranford native and documentary film producer Karen Cirillo. Ms. Cirillo will talk about a UNICEF project she coordinates called theoneminutesjr. Theoneminutesjr. is an international arts-based initiative that gives 12- to 20-year-old youth, especially those who are underprivileged or marginalized, the opportunity to have their voices heard, and to share ideas, dreams, fascinations, anxieties and worldviews through the creation of self-made, one-minute videos. The project was initiated in 2002 by the European Cultural Foundation and UNICEF. More than 2,000 youngsters from 93 countries have taken part in the program. Ms. Cirillo will talk about her experiences with the project and will also present several theoneminutesjr. video clips.
