High School On Alert After 'Vague' Threat

School officials and police are formulating a response to the scribbled threat.

Cranford High School and the Cranford Police Department are on alert after spotting a vague threat scribbled on a classroom table that indicates a possible event at the high school on April 7.

Though Superintendent Gayle Carrick identified the threat as "vague, unsubstantiated and not directed at any one person" in a letter to students and parents, school officials and police are taking the matter seriously.

"We are taking this matter very seriously as we do all reports of this nature," she said. "The Cranford Board of Education and the Cranford Police Department are working closely on this threat and are formulating an appropriate response."
