'Rumors' Will Take Center Stage At CHS This Weekend

The high school's drama department will present its production of Neil Simon's hit comedy on Nov. 18 and 19.

will be presenting Neil Simon's hilarious comedy, "Rumors" Nov. 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. All tickets are $7 and can be purchased online at www.cranfordmusic.org, or from cast members and at the door. All seats are general admission for this production. The new online purchasing option will allow patrons to use credit cards. Cash and checks will still be accepted at the school and the door.

The laughter is non-stop as what is supposed to be a 10th anniversary celebration for New York's Deputy Mayor, Charley Brock and his wife Myra rapidly declines into an evening of disaster. The first guests arrive hear a gunshot, then discover Myra missing and Charley incoherent and barely conscious. Fearing the political consequences if Charley's condition is made public, they scramble to cover-up the incident. As the other guests arrive, and the secret leaks out, speculation and rumors abound. What happened here? Did Charley discover Myra had been having an affair? Or did Myra discover Charley's infidelity? And where is Myra? When the police arrive later, the guests are forced to improvise, with hilarious results.

The CHS cast includes Tom Stoke as Ken, Marissa Salway, as Chris, Zach Love as Lenny, Erica Moreale as Claire, Derek Keller as Ernie, Erica Molfetto as Cookie, Jake Forrestal as Glenn, Annie Attardi as Cassie and Officer Welch and Pudney by Kevin Dingelstedt and Ryan Burd.

Brian Garretson and Daniel Murphy our the assistants to the director. The play is directed by the new acting teacher, Michael Pliskin, who has joined the CHS performing arts staff this fall. Pliskin is a recent graduate of Rowan University's Theater Education program.
