Sisters Launch Fresh Press Juice Co. in Cranford

The shop is set to open on South Avenue in January.

Sisters Deven Burgio and Lauren Miller will be opening Fresh Press Juice Co. in Cranford this January.

The business will offer organic fresh cold press juices, juice cleanses, salads, smoothies, muffins and frozen treats. All offerings will be organic, dairy-free and vegan, according to Burgio.

Burgio and Miller grew up on a horse farm in Vineland, New Jersey and the two were basically surrounded by farmers.

“We always ate a lot of local produce,” Burgio said. “When we got older, after college, we just found that it was so hard to fit eating well into our busy lives.”

Burgio, a Scotch Plains resident, said she and her sister started juicing about six years ago while her sister was a Special Education teacher in Delaware. Burgio always said that if her sister moved to the area, they would start the business. Miller recently moved to Westfield and quit her job so that the pair could launch the business at 105 South Avenue East.

The sisters went back and forth with where to open the business locally, but ended up falling in love with Cranford’s Downtown. Burgio added that everyone they have worked with has been so nice and Kathleen and Joanne from the Office of Business and Economic Development have been extremely helpful.
