Want to Change Anything?...Join the Club

After reading the book “Change Anything” by Kerry Patterson, Joseph Grenny, David Maxfield, Ron McMillan, and All Switzler, my views on how to make personal changes for success shifted forever.

As a Fitness Coach, I help people look and feel better than they’ve ever felt.  It’s a passion to me and to achieve that, I have to encourage others to make lifestyle changes for their greater good. 

I’m always racking my brain on the best ways to adjust behaviors and create lasting change to help others achieve what they want in their lives.  In my role it’s most likely something physical like losing weight, enhancing flexibility or releasing limitations for better movement.

So after reading and processing “Change Anything”, I decided it was time for me to incorporate my new knowledge with the old and create something that would help change behaviors, enhance well-being, and get communities to be active.

So ladies and gentlemen, I’m proud to introduce the Social Fit Club!!!

I know I can hear you asking the question, “What IS a Social Fit Club?”

The Social Fit Club is a fitness and wellness service for the community based out of Union County.  The Club has been created to provide fitness sessions, wellness workshops, networking events, and activity trips throughout Union County to help our community develop an active and mindful lifestyle.

These sessions are about moving your body, being active and finding what works best for you.  Each session is hosted by a qualified fitness and wellness professional that is focused on helping others bring out the best in themselves.

But why is this is different than other fitness classes and sessions? 

1.     It makes the undesirable, desirable – Just the term “workout” shuts people off to getting in shape because it makes activity seem like a chore.  Social Fit Club sessions are like adult recess and education combined because in each session you’ll leave feeling rejuvenated and knowledgeable of at least one thing that will help you on your path to health and well-being.

2.     Surpass your physical and mental limits – The best thing about these sessions is awareness of your body and your breath.  These sessions will challenge you to allow the body to do what it’s supposed to do and move how it’s supposed to move.  And to allow this, participants are instructed on being aware and making adjustments to get the most out of each session.

3.     Harness peer pressure and accountability – The Social Fit Club is about the community and helping each other on our path to health and well-being.  When we work towards a common goal, people achieve and become supportive of themselves and of others (strength in numbers).  Membership to the Club includes a Fitness Coaching check-in to encourage others as they address setbacks or assist others with questions and adjustments on their personal activity regimens.

4.     It’s a change of environment – Social Fit Club sessions are hosted at different locations and parks in Union County.  This is done so Members can experience different environments to work with their bodies.  Once people become comfortable in different environments and locations, they will be empowered to do their activity anywhere.  (Current Social Fit Club locations are in Springfield, Summit, Roselle Park and Cranford)

My Dharma, or purpose in life is to help others remember and return to their true nature, which is a state of health, mindfulness, and strength. So with the state of our culture now with obesity officially a disease, people medicated for things they can address though lifestyle changes, and feelings of self-worth lowered because of the bombarding of messaging on what we should look like or be like, its time for me to do something.

Enough is enough and if you’re ready to be a part of something that is about us, and helping us achieve an active, complete, and fulfilling life; the Social Fit Club is what you’ve been waiting for.

Here’s how it works:

·      Members can pay a monthly fee to get different levels of access to fitness sessions, workshops, and activity trips, or can purchase session packages (8,12, 16)

·      All Members get a weekly check-in call from a certified fitness and wellness professional to provide guidance on their path to health and well-being.

·      All Members receive a weekly newsletter with their workout for the week and nutrition tip for the week.

·      All Members get a monthly check-in to track results of their efforts and for prize eligibility.
