Cranford Faces Summit in Next Round of State Playoffs

The Cougars advance after defeating Palisades Park on Friday night.

In a rare opportunity, the Cranford Cougars will face Summit once again this season in the second round of the state football playoffs.

The Cougars defeated Palisades Park on Friday night, 47-21 moving them on to the next round.

Cranford, which is now 7-3, will face the undefeated and second-seed Hilltoppers at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Summit has won 22 consecutive games, which is the longest current winning streak in New Jersey, according to NJ.com. The Hilltoppers defeated the Cougars back in September, 48-7.
