Cranford Football Takes on Rival Summit Friday Night

The Cougars will visit the undefeated Summit Hilltoppers at 7 p.m.


The Cranford Varsity Football team takes on rival Summit on Friday night at 7 p.m. in Summit.

The Cougars lost in their first season game against Watchung Hills, 7-22, but last week, the team took on Somerville where they were victorious, 20-14.

The Cougars held a 20-7 lead at halftime, after Donovoan Walker scored the first touchdown for the team in the first quarter. In the second quarter, Luke Christiano broke a 42-yard run for a touchdown and caught a 38-yard touchdown pass from John Oblachinski, according to NJ.com. 

Last week, Summit had an extraordinary game against Johnson, according to NJ.com. Senior Colm Doughtery had 15 tackles, four rushing touchdowns and an interception return for score. The Hilltoppers have won 14 games straight as they head into Friday night’s game.
