The Firecracker 4 kicks off the annual Fourth of July celebration at Nomahegan Park.

The following information was provided by The Cranford Jaycees.

The Cranford Jaycees, a volunteer civic organization focused on helping the local community, announced it will be hosting the 34th annual “Firecracker Four Miler” road race on July 4 at Nomahegan Park.

Sign-in for the event is at 7:15 a.m. The fun run begins at 8:30 a.m., while the four mile run will take place at 9 a.m.

The annual Firecracker Four Mile run is one of the more established running events in New Jersey and considered one of the more popular summer road races.  The event is USATF certified.

In addition to the race, Nomahegan Park will also be the site for pre- and post-race festivities for children, including music, popcorn, balloons, and face painting.

Interested runners can still register online at www.Raceforum.com/fire-4
