Back to school: Cranford students head back to school this week. We want to see the kids on their first day of school! Children Entrepreneurs: Nicholas and Francesca Pinto of Cranford may be just 13 and 10-years-old, but the two siblings both have their own separate businesses. Nicholas owns, LB Scoots, a scooter part company, while Francesca runs, Duct Tape Dreams, where she makes a variety of products form duct tape, including this locker organizer, just in time for back-to-school. Check back with Patch this week as we learn more about both the Pinto's.

Sept. 11 Memorial: The Interfaith Human Relations Committee of Cranford Clergy Council will host a ceremony to remember the fallen Cranford residents of the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks and all those impacted at 7 p.m. The ceremony will be held at the memorial at Cranes Park.
Meetings: Cranford Committee will host a workshop meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday night in room 108 of the municipal building. On Tuesday, the committee will meet for the official meeting in the council chambers beginning at 8 p.m. The final ordinance to lower the Walnut Avenue speed limit will be read, as well as the introduction to the Board of Health re-inspection fees.
Friday Night Football: The Cranford Cougars take on Watchung Hills (away) on Sept. 12 at 7 p.m. Last week, the Varsity team lost their first game of the season against Caldwell, 42-10. Better luck this week Cougars!
Name the Cone!: Vanilla Bean Creamery is hosting a contest to name the ice cream cone mascot! Winner will receive a $25 gift card. Place your suggestion in the box on the shop’s counter by Sept. 21.
