I would have to agree with Mike's review below. I was not impressed with the teacher that my daughter had who was not at all committed to the class (i.e. absent constantly and rarely smiled) nor the other individuals who manage the school. For very young children (3-4 years old) to be expected to sit looking perfectly in their costumes for both the dress rehearsal and the recital and to be 20+ acts into the very long show is way unreasonable for the children or the parents. Kids were melting down and not all the parents could be backstage. Crazy! The waiting on line for the tickets process was the most ridiculous thing, with parents camping out at 4am to get front row seats. I waited over two hours for my tickets and got put in the section of the audience where I would have the "best view" according to them. At the last minute, they changed the order of the kids so my daughter was at the complete opposite side of the stage. The worst part - I really could have sat anywhere because no one even collected my tickets upon arrival and I was not even in the right section to have a good view of my daughter after waiting all that time for the tickets and hours and hours to see her perform. I have nothing good to say about this experience and there are many other dance schools in Cranford/Westfield that do not have this much drama to deal with. Stay away!

Having been to other dance school recitals for friends and family I thought I knew what to expect when my granddaughter's recital was to take place this past June. The recital was spectacular - the costumes were beautiful (and appropriate!). I must commend the teachers and staff on a job well done! I would recommend Beyond Dance to any parent interested in having their child take part in a truly wonderful dance experience.

The classes seemed affordable. However, at the end of the year the school charges you exorbitantly for the recital--tickets, costume, pictures, t-shirts, DVD (you're not allowed to film or take pictures during the actual recital!), flowers, etc. The school also charges you for the June classes when you register in September. However, the recital is at the beginning of June, followed by three classes to round out the month. Then there are no classes until Sept. Clearly, the June class charge is purely profit-motivated because it makes no sense to hold those last three classes. Furthermore, the school has done a very poor job of returning calls and answering e-mails--except when I first inquired about signing my daughter up in the fall. Stay away from this business if you'd like to avoid a LOT of aggravation!
