Woman Carjacked at Knife Point in Parking Lot of Cranford Dunkin Donuts

The Range Rover was stolen on Monday night by thieves using a vehicle stolen from an Elizabeth carjacking a few days prior.

On May 5, a woman in the passenger seat of a Range Rover was threatened at knifepoint in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts on Raritan Road by thieves in a Mercedes Benz that was stolen during an Elizabeth carjacking earlier in the week, according to officials. At around 10 p.m. the driver of the Range Rover, 39, pulled into the Dunkin Donuts and entered the store, leaving his 21-year-old passenger inside the vehicle, according to a report on NJ.com. A Mercedes Benz pulled up next to the Range Rover and the driver exited the Benz, entered the Range Rover and pulled a knife on the passenger telling her to get out, Cranford Police Chief Eric Mason told NJ.com. Cranford Man Arrested, Charged With Sharing Child Pornography

Andrew Johnson, 29, of Cranford was arrested on May 7 for distributing images of child sexual abuse on an Internet sharing site.

Andrew Johnson, 29, was arrested on the morning of May 7 for distributing images of child pornography on his computer in his Cranford home after an undercover investigation, according to U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman. Johnson appeared in court on the afternoon of May 7 and was released on 100,000 bail, he was charged by complaint with one count of distributing images of child sexual abuse over the Internet, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. On three different occasions in July and December 2012 and April 2013 an undercover agent discovered Johnson distributing the images on an internet sharing site and traced the IP address of the user on the website back to Johnson’s Cranford residence. Union County Prosecutor's Office Trains Law Enforcement on Autism

More than 300 officers from 125 municipalities from all over the state attended a seminar to train them on the signs of autism.

Following an in-depth training session that educated more than 300 law enforcement officers from more than 125 municipalities across the state on recognizing signs of autism, the Union County Prosecutor’s Office has purchased and distributed an instructional video for additional training to all those who attended the session recently held in Elizabeth. The most wanted woman in New Jersey history is now the first woman on the FBI's fugitive terrorist list. Joanne Chesimard, convicted of a murdering a state trooper in 1973, was added to the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist list Thursday on the 40-year anniversary of the trooper's death. The FBI Newark Division held a press conference Thursday to announce the addition of Chesimard's name and the collaboration between federal and state law enforcement agencies in upping the reward for information that leads to her arrest to $2 million. Spencer Durkin arrested Erica Dilcher, 18 and Jared Mullen, 19, of Clark for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana (less than 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia. Ptl. Durkin stopped a 1997 beige Nissan for failure to yield as it exited the Garden State Parkway at Centennial Ave/Cayuga Rd.  Following an investigation at the scene he located suspected marijuana and a crack pipe inside the vehicle.  Additional suspected cocaine was located on the person of the driver, Dilcher.  Both the driver and the passenger, Mullen, were arrested.  They were processed and released pending a first appearance in …

Brian Lopez arrested Assamad Nance, 32, of Newark for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana (less than 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia. According to police, a 2003 maroon Oldsmobile was stopped for a passenger seatbelt violation at Myrtle St/Rod Smith Pl. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Lopez located suspected cocaine and marijuana on Nance.  Nance was arrested, processed and released pending a first appearance in Superior Court. April 17, 2013: At 11:27 a.m. Ptl. Computer, Phones Seized From Suspected Bombers' Sister

Authorities took potential evidence from Ailina Tsarnaev of West New York at the same time her younger brother was being taken into custody in Watertown, Massachusetts.

FBI agents and local police spent several hours in a West New York apartment Friday night removing computers, cell phones and other belongings from the residence of Ailina Tsarnaev, the sister of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects, according to northjersey.com. A police presence in the form of one cruiser vehicle was stationed in front of the apartment building Saturday morning, the report said, and the officer on duty did not know how long the detail was scheduled to last. Officials told northjersey.com a 24-hour police presence would be placed outside the apartment. It was not known if Tsarnaev was still in the residence Saturday. Tsarnaev’s brothers, Dzhokhar A. Two members of the Cranford Police Department have been training for months to participate in the annual event, which honors officers killed in the line of duty.

Two Cranford Police officers will represent the township’s police force on the upcoming Police Unity Tour bicycle ride to honor the sacrifices of police officers killed in the line of duty. Thursday afternoon the FBI released surveillance photos and video of the two men they believe are suspects in the Boston Marathon bombings. In a press conference Thursday, Special Agent Rick DesLauriers asked for the public's help identifying the men. The man the FBI is calling "Suspect 2" was seen leaving a backpack near the site of the second explosion just minutes before it occured. "Somebody out there knows these individuals as friends, neighbors, coworkers or family members of the suspects," DesLauriers said.
