Cranford Gives Back: Jaycees Help Out With Christmas Gift Delivery [Video]

On Dec. 12 and Dec. 14 the Jaycees partnered up with the Cranford Police and the Fire Department to deliver toys to Cranford kids.

A special program gets residents to send in gifts and in return get a gift delivered to their home from Santa. The joint effort has been going on for a few years already and helps spread the joy of Christmas to Cranford youth with a gift several days ahead of the holiday. The Cranford Jaycees donate their time, along with the police department and fire deparment in making this event a success.

CPD Announces Cranford Santa Toy Delivery Program

By Dec. 5, drop off a donated toy and your own unwrapped gift to be delivered to your home.

The following information appears on the Cranford Police Department's Facebook page.   Santa Delivery 2012 Once again the Cranford Jaycees have agreed to sponsor the Santa Delivery program for us. If you are interested in participating you are asked to drop off an unwrapped toy to be given to a local charity. In return Santa and his Jaycee elves will deliver your wrapped present(s) to your home along with an escort from the Cranford Police or Fire Department! Annual Halloween Parade and 'Pumpkin Chunkin' Set For Oct. 28

The annual festivities hosted by the Cranford Jaycees will take place later this month.

This year's parade will be Sunday, Oct. 28. Gathering and registration will begin at 1 p.m. in the parking lot at Cranford Community Center and judging at 1:30 p.m. The parade starts at 2 p.m. and ends at the Gazebo in Parking Lot 1, near the Fire Department. It will be followed by the Pumpkin Chunkin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the awards. Awards will be given out for Best Costume in the following age groups: 0-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-16.Other categories include: adult/child team, group, and hand-pulled mini floats.The parade will begin at 2 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center, it will continue west on Walnut Avenue, north across South and North Avenue, up North Union Avenue, across Alden and end at the Gazebo in Parking Lot #1 (…
