Cranford Blotter: Possession of Marijuana, Paraphernalia and DWI Arrests

The following information was provided by the Cranford Police Department.  April 16, 2013: At 9:56 a.m. Ptl. Brian Lopez arrested Assamad Nance, 32, of Newark for Possession of Cocaine, Possession of Marijuana (less than 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia. According to police, a 2003 maroon Oldsmobile was stopped for a passenger seatbelt violation at Myrtle St/Rod Smith Pl. Following an investigation at the scene, Ptl. Lopez located suspected cocaine and marijuana on Nance.  Nance was arrested, processed and released pending a first appearance in Superior Court. April 17, 2013: At 11:27 a.m. Ptl. Daniel Norton arrested Idelbel Colon, 19, of Rahway for Possession of Marijuana (less than 50g), Possession of Paraphernalia. According to …

Motorist Stopped For Cracked Windshield Arrested On Drug Charges

The following information was provided by the Cranford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Following an investigation, a Woodbridge woman was arrested on drug possession charges after being pulled over by Cranford Police for having a cracked windshield. On April 8 at 11:06 a.m., Sgt. Guy Patterson stopped a green, 2000 Pontiac for a cracked windshield on Raritan Road at Coleman Avenue. During an investigation at the scene, he located suspected heroin and hypodermic syringes on the person of the driver, who was identified as Jenna Venturelli, 28, of Woodbridge. Venturelli was arrested, processed and transported to the Union County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail pending an appearance in Superior Court. Venturelli was charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute, possession with intent to distribute in a school zone, …

Cranford Arrests: Roselle Woman Charged With Heroin Possession

The following are arrests made in Cranford between Feb. 21 and March 12.  1.  2/21/13 @ 1529 Hrs. Central Ave./Springfield Ave. Arrested: James Terracina, Age 18, Cranford NJ Arrested by: Det. Michael Andrews Charges: Possession of Marijuana (less than 50g) and Possession of Paraphernalia Remarks: A 1993 red Pontiac was stopped for equipment violations.  Following an investigation at the scene, Det. Andrews located suspected marijuana inside the vehicle.  The driver (Terracina) was arrested, processed and released with a court appearance scheduled for 3/14/13 in Municipal Court.   2.  2/28/13 @ 2300 Hrs. Cranford Arrest Report: Union Man Hit With Drug Possession Charge

The following are recent arrests in Cranford. Arrested Feb. 16 at 10:56p.m. near Hillcrest Avenue and James Avenue Guillermo Manjarres, 23, Clifton Arrested by: Sgt. Eugene Perrotta Charges: Driving While Intoxicated A 2013 Cadillac STS was stopped for erratic driving and crossing a double yellow line.  Following an investigation at the scene, Sgt. Cranford Arrest Report: Vehicle Stops Lead to Cocaine, Marijuana Charges

The following information is provided by the Cranford Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction. Suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Following traffic stops, Cranford Police have made several arrests so far this month on drug charges including possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. On Jan. 8, David Benoit of East Orange was arrested after police allegedly found cocaine in the unregistered, tan Chevy he was driving. Benoit, 31, was in the vehicle at Centennial Avenue and Hayes Street around 1a.m. when Patrolman Spencer Durkin noticed the car had a blown tire and proceeded to investigate. The cocaine was allegedly found in the vehicle.  Benoit was processed and released with a date to appear in Superior Court. Durkin arrested another man for drug possession on Tuesday near Centennial Avenue and Raritan Road. Kaseem Burr, 30, was taken into custody for alleged …

CPD: Winfield Park Man Arrested for Possession Near Raritan Rd.

Last Sunday, Cranford Police stopped a 22-year-old Winfield man who was driving with a broken taillight and reportedly found marijuana. Zachary Meade, who was driving a white 2000 Ford was arrested near Raritan Road and Centennial Avenue around 12:45a.m. on Jan. 6, according to a police report. Cranford Police Officer Spencer Durkin made the arrest after allegedly finding marijuana in the vehicle, he said in his report, and booked Meade on charges of possession of less than 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Meade was processed and released.

@Jim... In that era, the DEA estimated that 40 tons per day were being consumed in the US. My 6 tons was a measly 3 1/2 hour supply. What kind of contribution was that to Party Central, USA? Cranford Juvenile Robbed Of Cash On Lincoln Avenue

The following information was obtained from the Cranford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

A Cranford juvenile was robbed of his money while walking on Lincoln Avenue on June 29, at 8:41 p.m. According to reports, Cranford Police received a call for a strong-armed robbery that had just occurred on Lincoln Avenue at Retford Avenue. The victim, a Cranford juvenile, was approached by two juveniles who demanded money. One of the actors allegedly pushed the victim and took his money. Patrolman Nelson Hearns stopped two juveniles fitting the description given by the victim on Chestnut Street near High Street, and they were taken into custody.
