Club offering 15-mile rides home for New Year celebrators through Jan. 2.
The New Jersey Automobile Club wants you to get home safe after New Years celebrations so they are offering free rides back for residents in Union, Morris and Essex counties only. To get a ride, call 973-467-2651, and press option #2. The free ride is limited to 15 miles, anything over that will be charged at $1 a mile, according to a representative. This service is available through Jan. 2, 2013. The service is part of the AAA program that provides rides home to prevent drunk driving. While not a nationwide program, a number of AAA clubs offer Tow-to-Go or Tipsy Tow service during certain holidays for members and nonmembers.
