A County public works crew was in Cranford this week taking care of a downed tree near the municipal building.
Workers from the Union County Public Works shade tree division were out clearing up remnants from Superstorm Sandy on Wednesday afternoon. About half a dozen workers were hauling away tree trunks that were sitting on county land near the grounds of the Cranford Historical Society. "It's been non-stop [storm cleanup] ever since," one worker said about the efforts. Workers were coming from Plainfield, with another stop in Kenilworth and final drop off in Springfield.
