Belladonna’s Yarn Room Celebrates One Year in Cranford

Donna Del Guercio fulfilled her lifelong dream of opening a yarn room just one year ago.

On Aug. 28, 2012 Donna Del Guercio had her dream come true when she opened Belladonna’s Yarn Room and Interiors in Downtown Cranford.

Today, Aug. 28, 2013, marks her one-year anniversary in the spot and she is looking forward to many more years to come.

“Thank you to everyone that I have met throughout the past year at Belladonna's Yarn Room,” Del Guercio said as she approached the one-year mark. “This has truly been a dream come true! Everyday has been a great day.”

As a child, Del Guercio always dreamed of owning a yarn store and instead of entering retirement, she decided to open the “yarn room” on N. Union Avenue in Cranford.

“Other people dream of becoming rich and famous, I wanted to knit and crochet all day,” she says on her about me on Belladonna’s website. “Or at least be surrounded by gorgeous wool and silk yarn.”

Belladonna’s offers a variety of classes in knitting and crocheting for beginners and the more experienced. Some of the usual classes include, Knitting 101, Crochet 101, a Friday Knit Club and Breakfast Knit Club on Saturday’s. It also has a variety of interior furnishings that you won’t find anywhere else, according to Del Guercio.
