D'Ambola, O'Connor Address Their Support on Issues Concerning Residents

Mary O'Connor and Bob D'Ambola, candidates for Township Committee, list issues such as Birchwood, potholes, a full-time CFO and more as items they have addressed the committee about on behalf of the residents.

To the Editor,

As candidates for Cranford Township Committee, we have spent the last ten months getting to know what is important to the residents of Cranford. We have walked your neighborhoods, introduced ourselves, listened to your concerns and answered your questions. It has been a wonderful experience and the best part of our campaign. Our philosophy was simple; to represent you, we needed to know what's important to you. You have told us what you love about our town, and what work needs to be done. We listened to you and brought your concerns to the Township Committee in workshop and Public Meetings. Here are just a few of the issues we have brought before the Township Committee on your behalf;

  • Union County Planning Board approval of the Birchwood Development site plan

  • Hiring a full time Chief Financial Officer dedicated to Cranford

  • Concern over where the funding for the matching grants for the Athletic Field bathrooms is going to come from and if it will raise taxes

  • Frustration over the stalled progress on the Hillside Avenue Tunnel, Centennial Avenue paving and traffic light realignment

  • Lack of progress on the repairs of the Orchard Brook Culvert

  • Paving Park Terrace and Park Street

  • Lowering the speed limit on Walnut Avenue

  • Universal access to the town gazebo

  • Lack of progress on the removal of trees and silt from the river

  • Abandoned properties in disrepair

  • Fixing potholes throughout the town

  • Dangerous equipment staging areas for the Water Company project

  • Standing water issues on Aberdeen Court

  • Crumbling river wall at the ends of Pine and Elm Streets

  • These are the things that matter to you and we were happy to make your voices heard. We thank you so much for the time you have spent with us. It has been a truly rewarding experience representing your concerns to the Township Committee. We hope to have the chance to continue our efforts and would appreciate your support on November 5th.

    Sincerely,

    Mary O'Connor
