Search Resumes Saturday for Cranford Woman's Body

April Wyckoff is believed to have been killed by her boyfriend, Matthew Ballister, authorities said.

Authorities continued their search Friday for the body of 43-year-old April Wyckoff, of Cranford who is believed to have been killed by her boyfriend, according to authorities. 

Multiple agencies focused their attention on Liberty State Park in Jersey City, but her body was not found and authorities will resume the search Saturday morning, according to News12 New Jersey.

The body of Wycoff, a mother of two, is believed to be somewhere in the northern part of the state, Mark Spivey a spokesman from the Union County Prosecutor’s office told NJ.com.

Matthew Ballister is being held in Union County Jail on $2 million bail on first-degree murder charges, while his mother, Eleanor Schofield, is also being held of $1,500 bail on a hindering the apprehension charge for allegedly concealing evidence in connection with Wyckoff’s killing.

The prosecutor's office alleges Ballister killed Wyckoff sometime on Tuesday evening based on evidence found at the Mercer Avenue home in Union Township, authorities said.
