Summit Patch editor, Elizabeth Alterman, contributed to this report.

The Cranford Cougars lost to undefeated rival Summit on Friday night under the lights at Investors Savings Bank Field Tatlock Park in Summit.

Summit dominated, scoring two touchdowns by the end of the first quarter and coming out of the first half leading 48-7. Cranford scored again in the third quarter but it wasn't enough to topple the Hilltoppers who are now 3-0 this season. The Hilltoppers were victorious over Cranford, 48-14.

Donovan Walker rushed for 130 yards and a touchdown in the first quarter. In the third quarter, John Oblachinksi, scored a three-yard run off of a kick by Kettler, according to NJ.com. However, the two runs for Cranford could not keep up with the four touchdowns by Summit’s Charlie Terry and the five additional touchdowns by the team’s players.

The football team is now 1-2 this season. The Cougars take on Roselle Friday at 7 p.m. at Memorial Field.
