Cranford Girl Scouts Will Be On Martha Stewart Show In May

A group of local Girl Scouts recently attended a taping of Martha Stewart Living.

On March 21, a group of Cranford Girl Scouts attended a taping of the Martha Stewart Living show in New York. The episide celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Girl Scouts of America.

Julie Horne, the troop's leader said she received a copy of the Martha Stewart Living Newsletter and noticed a small blurb asking people to write to the show if they knew of a troop that should be featured on the show with the domestic diva.

"I immediately did it and a few days later, we were invited," Horne said. "I wrote about the hurricane and that the girls were displaced from their school (Brookside Place) and despite that, they have been working on community service all year."

During the show, one of the girls was selected to join Martha for an on-air cooking segment. All of the girls in the Cranford troop can be seen on the show when it airs May 1.
