New South Avenue Complex to Offer 1- to 3-Bedroom Apartments

The early stages of construction have started at the 555 South Ave.

Bulldozers are on site at 555 South Ave. has they begin construction on a new community that will feature one- to three-bedroom apartments, according to the property owners, Woodmont Properties.

Apartments will range between 654 and 1,230 square feet, but rents have not been established as of yet, Regional Property Manager for Woodmont Properties Marla Posley told Patch.

The community will also feature a fitness center, clubhouse, business center and gaming room.

During the initial stages of groundbreaking, wildlife from the area started to scatter to the homes behind the property, Mayor Tom Hannen said.

At Tuesday’s Board of Health meeting, Monika Koscova-Jencik of the board told the committee that the property management company quickly responded to the issue and there is currently no infestation problem in the area.

Lehigh Acquisition Corp. sold 555 South Avenue to Woodmont Properties following litigation that the lawyer representing Cranford on the Birchwood Development case was in some way connected to Lehigh.
