Centennial Avenue Closes for Paving on Thursday, Friday

The county and township have updated construction times to be in the evening.

Centennial Avenue between Raritan Road and North Avenue will be closed for paving on Thursday and Friday.

The Township of Cranford met with the county to adjust the original construction times in order to minimize the impact of traffic, including that of Friday night with a home football game.

The road will be closed on Thursday from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday and on Friday from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday, according to a Nixle Alert sent out by the Cranford Police Department. Final paving will be done during the day on Oct. 15 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. (weather permitting).

Detours will be established and maintained by county forces.

“Access to residences, including deliveries and other services, will be allowed as much as possible,” according the county. Parking on Centennial in this area will be prohibited during these dates.

The Union County Traffic Bureau can be reached at (908) 789-6011 between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
