Conservation Center Is Open for Christmas Tree Disposal

Christmas tress will be accepted without a permit January through March on Friday and Saturday.

A notice on the website for the Cranford Health department reminds residents to avoid placing their old Christmas trees on the curb for pickup.

"The Public Works Department does not pick up the trees. Your private garbage hauler may be able to assist you in removal," says the message on the website.

The Conservation Center (located off Orange Avenue on Birchwood Avenue) is open this month through March for Christmas tree disposal. Residents do not need a permit to use the conservation center to get rid of their trees. Trees shouldn't be placed in bag and ornaments and tinsel should be removed.
