Heavy Rain, High Wind to Impact the Area, Police Warn

Strong wind and rain is expected on Wednesday and Thursday.

The following information was provided by the Cranford Police Department.

The National Weather Service has provided the following information on the potential impacts of a coastal storm through Wednesday followed by a cold windy Thanksgiving Day. 

Rainfall of 2 to 4 inches which may cause freshwater urban flooding. To mitigate the flooding of roadways please ensure leaf piles do not block drains and leave sufficient space along the curb for storm water to flow freely. 

A WIND ADVISORY is in place for strong winds from the southeast then south at 25-35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph from late tonight into Wednesday afternoon/evening. 

Thanksgiving Day expected to be cold and windy with northwest winds of 15-25 mph and gusts of 30-40 mph. High temperatures will be in the 30s and lows in the 20s. Wind chills will be in the teens at night.
